Catholic Schools’ Week is always a busy week here at St. Ambrose! There are always so many exciting events for students and families to help celebrate Catholic Schools. This year, we started the week with the annual Mass with the Bishop at St. Mary’s, where we join students from Marquette and the other area Catholic grade schools to celebrate our faith. On Tuesday, students in grades 4 - 8 learned about internet safety, while the students in grades Pre-K - 3 enjoyed a dance and nachos for a treat. Wednesday was the annual Science Fair, and the students had been working hard to make their projects really shine! The open house was held that evening, along with new family registration. We had several new families come visit and tour the school, and of course many of our current family members were here to show them our St. Ambrose spirit. Thursday was the K of C Spelling bee, and also the annual Staff/Parents vs. 8th Grade volleyball match. Everyone enjoyed all the friendly competition! We wrapped up the day with a puppet show for the younger students, and a dance for the 4th - 8th grades. The week was also filled with fun things like crazy hair day, superhero day, and crazy hats and socks day. Catholic Schools’ Week is always a great time to be a part of the St. Ambrose family - just like any other time of the year! And, coming back next year….Skate Night! Save the date (1/29/2017) for a Skate Night at the YMCA in Edwardsville. St. Ambrose Parents’ Association has rented the skate rink for St. Ambrose families to enjoy to kick-off Catholic Schools Week. More information will be provided closer to the date.
Catholic Schools Week is coordinated through Principal, Jean Heil. Feel free to contact Jean if you are interested in planning and volunteering.
